These terms cover use of the Lisbon International Sailing Club (LISC) website and member platform at lisbonisc.org. LISC is a not-for-profit sailing club established in Portugal. About the service
The platform provides account sign-in and tools for club members to manage their profile, view and book club sails, review membership and sailing-credit information, and submit manual membership or credit top-up payment requests. Administrators and skippers have additional operational features. Existing members whose email is registered with the club can sign in directly without a new invitation or membership application. New members join through an invitation and approval process. Member features remain subject to the applicable membership and eligibility requirements set by the club.
Your account
Use an email address you control and keep your sign-in links and codes private. Keep your profile information accurate and notify the club if it needs correction. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account, except where applicable law says otherwise. Do not access another person's account or attempt to bypass access controls.
Membership, fees, and payment requests
Membership terms, sailing-credit pricing, and payment instructions are shown in the platform or provided by the club. A quote records the price and term applicable when the request is made. The current platform supports manual bank transfers and payment-proof uploads; it does not process card payments online. Membership or credit changes that require payment take effect only after the club confirms the payment under its procedures. The platform's displayed balance and history are administrative records; contact the club if you believe one is incorrect.
Membership eligibility, renewals, payment cancellation, and any refunds are handled under the membership terms provided by LISC and applicable law. The platform currently returns the sailing credits charged for a booking when you cancel before the sail starts. Contact LISC at [email protected] with questions about a specific quote or payment.
Sailing and safety
Sailing is an activity with inherent risks, including changing weather and water conditions. Follow instructions from the skipper and club, provide information reasonably needed for safe participation, use required safety equipment, and do not participate when impaired or when doing so would endanger yourself or others. A skipper or the club may postpone, change, or cancel a sail for safety or operational reasons. These terms do not exclude or limit liability or rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Acceptable use and member content
Use the platform lawfully and respectfully. Do not upload unlawful, harmful, misleading, or infringing material; interfere with the service; probe or defeat its security; or misuse another member's personal information. You retain rights to content you submit and allow the club to use it as needed to operate the platform and club activities. Do not post information or images of another person unless you have an appropriate basis to do so.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but it may be interrupted, changed, or unavailable for maintenance, safety, or technical reasons. The platform is an administrative tool; the club may correct records where needed and will use reasonable efforts to preserve accurate booking and financial histories.
Suspension or closure
The club may restrict or suspend platform access where reasonably necessary for security, misuse, membership administration, or compliance with club rules or law. You may stop using the platform at any time. Closing an account does not automatically cancel a membership, booking, payment obligation, or record that the club must retain.

Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without limiting mandatory consumer protections or other rights that apply to you. Disputes are subject to the competent courts determined under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the platform or club rules change. The current version and its update date will be posted here. Where required, the club will give notice of material changes.
